Shapes announce UK tour, remix release and debut album on the horizon

After a year of tearing up venues from here to Japan with the likes of Glassjaw and Pulled Apart by Horses, Brummie noise merchants Shapes are gearing up for an ear-splitting assault in the form of a UK tour, remixed EP and hotly anticipated debut full-length.

A spontaneous musical explosion of breathtaking scope, last year’s The Pasture, The Oil was hectic enough in its original form; letting the likes of Sam Manville (Greatest Hits, Hymns) loose on reworking an already schizophrenic canvas can only mean double mayhem.

The Pasture, The Oil Remixes (released October 4th) offers Shapes’ strident brand of mathcore replete with sub-bass and processed beats, superimposing industrial urban panache onto the sweaty UK underground.

For the time being though Shapes remain firmly in their polyrhythmic, hardcore universe, where you can catch them doing what they do best on tour with These Monsters in October. And with a long-awaited full-length album announced for release early next year, expect new material thrown at you as well as the usual flailing legs and discarded t-shirts.
